Throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage children take part in a mixture of play, adult and child initiated activities to enable them to work towards the Early Learning Goals set out in the Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Each half term in Rainbow Class we have a different topic: Me, Winter and Christmas, Homes & Shops, Living Things, Transport and Water.
Our topic in Rainbow Class for this half term is ‘Water’. As part of this topic we will be learning about the creatures that live under the sea and we will be visiting the Sea Life Centre.
Books that we cover in class will focus around our topic and we will be making our role play area into an underwater world.
We will also be learning about pushes and pulls.
The last two weeks of the half term will also focus on a mini topic of moving on to new classes. The children will be involved in making transition books for themselves and will learn about what en exciting time September will be!!! |
