Volunteer Volunteers at Springwell School

Thank you for  considering offering your support as a volunteer at Springwell School.

The booklet which you can download below provides you with some information about volunteering.

As we have many people interested in volunteering at Springwell, we have introduced procedures to help you and us get to know each other and evaluate if the placement is right for both parties.

In order to safeguard our pupils, before you come into school we will ask you to complete the registration form in the booklet ( Pages 11 & 12), giving a referee who will be contacted over the phone and asked to give a verbal character reference.

Then you will be asked to come into school to meet either the deputy or senior teacher for a short informal discussion about what we can offer you and what you hope to get out of the volunteering process. They will complete pages 9 & 10 with you and show you around the school.

Once you have spent a  few sessions in school, you will have another informal meeting with the deputy or senior teacher to find out how things are going, if all is going well, we will then ask you to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check to enable your placement to become more permanent. This is a legal requirement for anyone working or volunteering within a  school and is intended to safeguard both parties.

Volunteers are an integral part of our work and through this process we are able to ensure the placement is right for you and that you enjoy your time at Springwell.

Please click on the link and take a look at the booklet. If you then still wish to volunteer please contact the school office on 023 8044 5981 who will put you in contact with  Lisa Needham (Deputy) or Maria Burrows (Senior teacher).

Please be aware that we do have many people applying to become volunteers and so there may be times when we ask you to wait until there is a space available.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SPRINGWELL SCHOOL
